Distributions
Linux Distributions
The QCP Distributions page will allow you to install a distribution into your VPS.
Your VPS must be halted before installing a new distribution. Simply select the distribution you wish to install, enter your root password, and click Install.
Update Root Password
If you only wish to change your root password on an OpenVZ, your VPS must be in a running state. Simply enter your new root password and click Reset Password. Once you login, you may make further changes to your root password if desired. This will only reset the root password, and will not change your SSH configuration, such as SSH Keys or RootLogin settings. Please submit a help ticket in the support portal if you need further action to gain SSH access.
To change your root password on a Xen XS series of server, you'll need to login to the QCP, select the Rescue Mode in the kernel select box, then boot your VPS into rescue mode.
You will be able to ssh in using the password shown in the job queue from the installation of the Rescue Mode temporary distro. You may then mount your regular distribution disk, chroot,
and change your root password.
Xen Kernel Select
You may choose from one of the Linux kernels we provide in the drop down to boot your XS series of Xen servers. If you would like to boot from your own PV-GRUB enabled kernel, select the pv-grub-x86_32.tgz entry. Choose Rescue Mode to boot into Rescue Mode.
