QCP Servers
The QCP Servers page allows you to Upgrade/Downgrade/Add/Cancel a server at any time.
To Add a new Server:
To add a server, click the Add a server link on the sub menu. Then select your server plan, your distribution of choice, and a short server name to identify the server in the system. This server name will be used to select the active VPS in the select active server dropdown in the QCP. It will also be used to name the service in the billing portal.
Type in your temporary Root password that you will use to login for the first time. (Change this password as soon as your login via ssh.)
If you wish to add additional disk space or IP addresses, simply open a help ticket in the support portal regarding the new server.
You will be emailed a welcome letter with details on your new server once the system automatically creates the new server. An invoice for the new service will automatically be generated and will be available at https://support.quantact.com. If you have existing credits they will be applied towards the latest invoice.
To Cancel an existing server:
To cancel an existing server, you must select it in the active server dropdown.
The server must be in a Stopped state, i.e. you must HALT it in the Overview page. Once you have selected and halted your server to be canceled, click on the Delete a server link in the Servers submenu.
Type the name of the currently active server into the name of this server field,
then type the word "DELETE" into the box below.
Click the Delete button to cancel the service.
A credit will be issued for the remaining time for the servers current billing month.
Server cancellation is permanent. Please be sure to backup any data prior to cancellation.
To Upgrade/Downgrade an existing server:
To upgrade or downgrade an existing server simply click on the Upgrade/Downgrade a server link in the Servers submenu.
Select the plan you wish to change to. The system will automatically run a job that adjust your resource quotas to the new levels. If downgrading, be sure to reduce your filesystem quota usage to below the new quota, or the downgrade will not occur.
An invoice or credit will be issued for the difference in your plans remaining time in its current billing month. Any existing credits will be applied towards an invoice from an upgrade.
Upgrades and Downgrades for Xen servers will require additional steps to resize their LVM
partitions. You must HALT the server, then Snapshot backup and restore to resize the LVM disk parition.
You may then START back up under the new plan quota.
